While some may see it as just an overpriced grocery store, Erewhon is a huge celebrity trap. It is the most expensive grocery store in America, frequently visited by people like Cara Deliviegne, A$AP Rocky, Hillary Duff, and many more. The outrageous prices have taken social media by storm, creating whirlpools of controversy around it, even convincing the people who have taken disgust with the outlandish costs to go and spend their money at one of their L.A. locations.

They justify the prices with the fact that all of their products are natural and organic, but aren't Whole Foods or Sprouts the same thing, with much more reasonable prices? However, this wage gap greatly appeals to wealthy people, The New York Times even calling it "the unofficial hangout for the young, beautiful, and bored."¹ With $26 oxygenated water or their $50 sea moss, Erewhon definitely creates sort of a status symbol between people, especially when materialistic people get their hands on enough money for a trip there.

One of the biggest products there is a strawberry smoothie that costs $20. It has been so graciously given the name of: Hailey Beiber’s Strawberry Skin Glaze Smoothie. I think its ridiculous, but also, if people want it, let them be.
